These terms apply to this website and to the Dala app while it is in testing. By using either, you agree to them. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
Dala is in testing
The app may change, stop working for a while, or lose test data. Please don't rely on it as your only record of your business's money. Keep your bank statements.
Dala's numbers are a guide
Dala works out takings, costs and profit from the statements and prices you give it. Some figures are calculated and some are estimates, and each is marked as such. They can be wrong. Dala is not an accountant, a financial adviser or a credit provider. It does not give financial advice, and its numbers are not an audit.
Dala can help you plan, but decisions about your business are yours. Anything you choose to share from Dala, such as a summary of your figures, is shared by you.
Answers written by AI
Dala uses AI services to sort payments and to write answers to your questions. The app checks that every rand amount in an answer comes from your own figures, but the wording can still be unclear or wrong. Use the "This looks wrong" button when it is. The privacy policy lists the services that process your information.
Using Dala fairly
Use Dala only for your own business, or one you are allowed to act for. Don't upload other people's statements without their permission, try to break or overload the service, or sign up for the waitlist with someone else's details.
Your information stays yours
You own the statements, prices and other information you put into Dala. You let us use it only to run the app for you and to make Dala's sorting more accurate. You can delete your account and data from the app's settings at any time.
Our responsibility
We provide Dala as it is while it is in testing. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on its figures. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by the contact details you gave us. These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
